Debbie Weltch - Councilwoman

Debbie settled into Burkeville, VA in December 2012. In January 2014, Debbie joined the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department to give her a way to support the town she adopted as her home. Debbie worked her way through obtaining her EMT-B certification. When she’s not helping patients as an EMT, she enjoys running the Fire Apparatus on fire-related calls. In January 2025, she began serving in the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department as an EMS Lieutenant. 

Over the past few years, Debbie periodically volunteered her time and abilities to cover the town office when the town did not have a paid clerk. She has a keen sense of how the billing software works as well as processing utility payments. Debbie intends to use that knowledge to help her make the best decisions for the town. 



Debbie is married to Mr. Brian Weltch who also lives in Burkeville, VA. They have a total of 3 sons (Chris, JJ and Jeremy) and a daughter (Jasmine).
