Brian Weltch - Volunteer FD Chief

Chief Weltch is a 12-year resident of Burkeville, VA. He is a United States Army Combat Veteran who learned that the best feeling in the world is serving your fellow Americans. 


Chief Weltch started his volunteer fire service with the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department in August 2013, with plans to “find something to do a few hours a day”. Since then, he has completed Certification Training in both Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services. Chief Weltch is a Pro-Board-Certified Firefighter through to the Fire Officer 2 level and a Nationally Certified EMT-B. 


Chief Weltch adamantly believes in strong community involvement and giving back to the community in which he lives. Volunteering in the community has been an extremely therapeutic and rewarding experience over the years for him. Chief Weltch takes great pride in serving his fellow citizens, business owners, and their guests with high quality service when they need it the most. 



Chief’s goal for the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department is to provide absolutely the best services to the community as possible, provided by highly qualified and highly certified Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians.
