Lee Simmons - Vice Mayor

Lee Simmons has strong local roots in our community. He grew up in nearby Crewe, VA. Lee received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. After college, he returned to our community in 2001 to work at his family’s business, Simmons Monument Company, and he still works there today. 

Lee served on the Board of Directors of the Crewe Burkeville Chamber of

Commerce as Vice President, and the Crewe Town Council as Vice-Mayor. He served on the Nottoway County Economic Development Committee. Lee was elected Mayor of Crewe in 2010, and served two terms. 

In 2014, Lee took a part-time job with Ronald V. Dunn Real Estate Company in Crewe as a Real Estate Agent and Associate Broker. Real Estate quickly became his full-time profession and in 2021, he started his own brokerage, Lee Simmons Signature Realty. He serves as the Owner and Principal Broker. 

Lee was elected to the Burkeville Town Council in 2024, and currently serves as Vice-Mayor and Chairman of the Finance Committee and the Planning Committee. He also serves on the Utilities Committee.

Lee has lived in Burkeville since 2017 with his wife, Shelley, and three sons, Eli, Tucker, and Stone.
